Thanks, LollyChops! It's a beauty and I'm very honored to have been gifted with it!

Computer Wall

Showing my computer wall today--very simple. I'm really wanting to spiff it up a bit, but it works for me now.

The picture is a triptych of my daughter and I taken by the hospital's photographer for Mother's Day. I love, love, love the pics they took of us, and they allowed us to pick our three favorite pics and they framed them for us. Is that nice or what?

Again, the desk is very simple, just an ol' hollow core door, stained and edged with trim by my darlin' dear. On top of my desk, left side, I have my stamps/inkpads, drawing pad, computer cds, my organizing notebooks and my recipe box a la Sidetracked Home Executives. In the file organizer behind my laptop I keep my current photos that need to be scanned and ideas/sketches for layouts. On the right side of the desktop I keep sticky notes and a pad of paper for note-taking, and drawing pencils/pens/markers (in the red tin). Most of the time this side of the desk looks pretty crazy with all the current papers/ideas/magazines/flyers stacked there.

On the very left of the photo, you can see my gigantor printer and a peek of the scanner below.

On the left side under the desk, I store paper scrapbooking items as well as paper, clear paper protectors, ribbons and beads.

On the right side under the desk, I store office supplies and current albums I'd like to be working on.

Crafting Update

Really boring week, due to busy work week. I recertified for S.T.A.B.L.E. on Monday. I worked Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. And we started our weekend as soon as I woke up on Friday.

These pics are gonna bore you to tears.

I finished a sock, and hope to cast on for the second this week.

The vest is eleven inches long.

The Tomten is also eleven inches long.

And, no sewing. No scrapbooking, or embroidery, or any crafty goodness.
See, I told you it was boring!
I'm not working till Friday and I hope I have lots of pics and finished projects for next week.

Weekend Goodness

What a great weekend we had! We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary this weekend.

We spent the night at Rick's Grand Hotel in downtown McKinney. The hotel was lovely, and I'd definitely recommend NOT to get an interior room. Having no windows was pretty spooky. Also the room walls were paper thin, which was a little disconcerting. The HVAC was noisy and sounded like a helicopter taking off from the roof. But the room itself was gorgeous and beautifully appointed. VERY comfortable and luxurious.I am definitely looking forward to going back.

We ate at Rick's Chophouse for dinner, and everything was DIVINE! I can't say enough nice things about the whole experience. Only downfall, coffee snob that I am, is that their coffee was crap. Even the husband complained.

Saturday we spent the entire day working in the yard. I must've transplanted a hundred plants. Many beds were amended, weeded, and patted into prettiness. I need to fertilize a little later in the week. Pictures to come when it's a little brighter outdoors. It is still cloudy today and we were very lucky not to have any storms that tore up all the work we did. We had some lovely rain, about 1.25 inches. Perfect.

Sunday was Family Day, as usual. We had an Easter egg hunt indoors and it was pretty boring--next year Hank will be walking and we have promised to have a more involved experience. Those baby smiles are just too cute! And, wow, is he growing fast!

Husband retrieved pictures from the attic, and DIL helped me choose which ones to hang. We also switched some of the frames and pictures to achieve a more balanced look. This week I'll be cleaning and reframing and hopefully hanging pictures. I'm hoping to add some OLD family pictures from both sides of the family.
